In celebration of Women's History Month, we're spotlighting the incredible women of Cobalt throughout March. Each feature will share their unique cybersecurity journeys, insights, and career lessons they have learned.
How long have you been working in cybersecurity? How did you get started in the field?
I moved into cybersecurity around 2020. What sparked my interest was the crucial need to help companies strengthen their security. I was drawn to the challenge of solving complex problems and making a real difference in protecting digital assets.
What has been the greatest reward of your career? What do you love most about your job?
The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the tangible impact we have on our clients. Reading positive feedback and knowing we've strengthened their security is incredibly fulfilling. I also take pride in modernizing Cobalt’s finance function, driving greater efficiency across the company. Ultimately, it’s about making systems more secure and contributing to a safer digital landscape.
What has been the greatest challenge you faced in your career?
One of the biggest challenges has been keeping the finance function aligned with Cobalt's rapid growth. Cybersecurity is a fast-paced field, so we had to implement new systems and processes while maintaining operational stability. Balancing the need for quick adaptation with the importance of a solid financial foundation was demanding, but very worthwhile.
What impact has female mentorship had on your life? Was the impact in a personal or professional setting?
Female mentorship has been incredibly valuable. It's easier to connect with people who share similar experiences, and seeing others succeed makes your own goals feel more achievable. Female mentors often provide very practical and insightful feedback. Of course, I also greatly appreciate the guidance of my male mentors; they all contribute to my growth.
What is your advice to young female professionals coming into the workforce or into cybersecurity?
My advice is to be confident, stay curious, and be persistent. Don't be afraid to take on challenges, actively seek out learning opportunities, and build a strong professional network. Cybersecurity requires continuous learning, so stay adaptable and engaged. And most importantly, speak up and share your unique perspective.
What’s your biggest inspiration or motivator when you are down?
My biggest motivation comes from knowing that my work makes a real difference in digital security. The knowledge that I'm contributing to a safer online environment is very fulfilling. The support of my team, network, and family, combined with my desire for continuous improvement, keeps me going.
Is there a moment in recent memory, where you felt empowered by female representation?
Recently, Sara Sabry who is an Egyptian–Lebanese engineer, citizen astronaut, and entrepreneur spoke with Cobalt and she was incredibly inspiring. Her dedication and passion were truly remarkable. While space exploration might not be my specific career path, her achievements highlight the incredible potential of women.

What are your favorite hobbies?
Outside of work, I really enjoy diving (when I can!). There's something incredibly calming and exhilarating about exploring the underwater world. It's a chance to fully disconnect, see a different perspective, and experience the beauty of nature in a completely unique way. Beyond that, I enjoy staying active and spending time with friends and family.
