Cobalt
Cobalt

Cobalt provides a Pentest as a Service (PtaaS) platform that is modernizing the traditional, static penetration testing model by providing streamlined processes, developer integrations, and on-demand pentesters. Our blog is where we provide industry best practices, showcase some of our top-tier talent, and share information that's of interest to the cybersecurity community.

Welcome, Francesco! Tell us a bit about yourself, and where you're based.

I'm Italian, I have a very Italian name and a stereotypical (but visceral) passion for design. I lived across Europe, moving from wine to beer essentially. I live in Berlin now. That's part of the beer phase :)

Can you talk about what you'll be doing here at Cobalt?

I'll make pentesting beautiful together with my team. There is very functional purpose in beauty actually, as Seigmeinster & Walsh wrote recently in a book titled (very reasonably) "Beauty":

"beautiful works are not only more joyful, they also function much, much better."

How will customers and partners feel the impact of the work you're doing?

The answer is all in the word you just used, "to feel". To solve users' needs today is not enough. We want to create an experience you'll love. If we match, then I did my job.

What attracted you to the role? What are you most excited about over the next 6-12 months?

Such great sensitivity for design among the leadership team is something I have never experienced before. That played an essential part in my decision. I am very excited to see how far I can push the quality I envision for Cobalt.

What's your ideal superpower?

To be able to stop the pandemic. We all need a big hug.
