Hi Erika– tell us more about yourself. What were you doing prior to joining Cobalt?
Prior to joining Cobalt, I worked at a tech company as a People Operations Specialist, with a focus on Global Payroll and Benefits. As someone who enjoys traveling, I was on the lookout for a job that would allow me to work from anywhere in the US, and Cobalt, being a remote-first company, is the perfect fit for me.
How did you find out about Cobalt?
When I stumbled upon Cobalt online, I was thrilled to find out that they have an amazing reputation! After chatting with some of my friends in the industry, I knew I had to apply for the role of People Operations Specialist. It would be a fantastic opportunity to meet the team and potentially join such a friendly and supportive community.
What has been your experience working at Cobalt?
My Cobalt journey has been incredible! Can you believe my first week was spent in Cancun, Mexico getting to know everyone for our full team company offsite? Cobalt's perks and benefits are seriously top-notch and make me feel like I'm part of a great organization.
What is your favorite part of working on your team?
Personally, I find being on the People Team incredibly fulfilling for a few reasons. Firstly, I have the pleasure of working alongside a group of talented and passionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference. Secondly, it's satisfying to help our employees grow and develop in their careers. Lastly, the work we do on the People Team is critical to the success of the company, which gives me a great sense of purpose and pride. Ultimately, being on the People Team allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of our employees and the success of the company as a whole, which is truly rewarding.
You were recently promoted, tell us about that?
I am thrilled to share that I have recently been promoted to the position of Senior People Operations Specialist from my previous role as a People Operations Specialist.
With this promotion, I have been entrusted with added responsibilities and given more opportunities to form partnerships with new colleagues in the organization. I am enthusiastic about taking on these new challenges and growing both personally and professionally.
My manager is an excellent motivator and has cultivated a team environment where we are all passionate about our work. I am excited to be a part of this team and am looking forward to contributing to its continued success.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! It gives me a child-like sense of wonderment and allows me to spend quality time with my family, friends, and pets. In addition to traveling, I also enjoy sports, particularly American football. I'm a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and my absolute favorites are Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu. When I'm not watching football, I like to watch Law and Order SVU, and I'm excited to check out Elliot Stabler's new show too!
